Building
The rehabilitation project for La Samaritaine's Store 3 was one of the most ambitious heritage operations ever conducted in the heart of Paris. Designed in the 1930s by Henri Sauvage, this Art Deco building, recognizable by its fully riveted metal structure, underwent a complete restructuring aimed at combining heritage preservation with new uses and contemporary requirements.
The project transformed the building into a mixed-use complex housing retail spaces on the lower levels and offices on the upper floors, while restoring the structure's iconic elements: stone facades, metal joinery, ironwork, the canopy, glass floors, and vertical circulation. All interventions were carried out with the goal of recapturing the spirit envisioned by Henri Sauvage while meeting current standards for performance, flexibility, and sustainable development.
As part of this major rehabilitation, the Mezzoteam platform supported all project stakeholders by centralizing communications, technical documentation, and approval processes. Serving as a true collaborative space, it facilitated coordination between the numerous parties involved and ensured the traceability of decisions throughout the operation.
The feedback demonstrates the value of a single platform for managing a complex rehabilitation project, where coordination between heritage, architecture, engineering, and construction is critical. Thanks to information that was always accessible, structured, and shared, the teams were able to secure approval processes, streamline communication, and maintain a high level of document quality throughout all phases of the project.
Today, La Samaritaine's Store 3 illustrates the success of a transformation that breathes new life into an iconic building while meeting the requirements of a modern mixed-use program. This operation also serves as a benchmark for digital collaboration on large-scale heritage rehabilitation projects.
