Expansion of the nuclear power plant with 2 new reactors

Industry and Energy
Located on the Somerset coast in southwest England, Hinkley Point C is one of the most ambitious energy projects undertaken in the United Kingdom in recent decades. Developed by EDF, this major program has enabled the installation of two new-generation EPR reactors at the historic Hinkley Point nuclear site.
Launched in 2016, this strategic project has brought together thousands of employees and industrial partners around a common goal: to sustainably strengthen the United Kingdom's low-carbon electricity production.
Throughout the project, several major milestones were reached, including the completion of the civil engineering infrastructure for the two nuclear islands. The construction of the first reactor base mat marked an iconic milestone for the site, involving the pouring of an exceptional volume of concrete and steel, setting a national record at the time for an operation of this scale in the UK. These works required rigorous team coordination, high-level technical expertise, and large-scale logistical organization.
Our involvement was at the heart of this extraordinary industrial program, contributing to the success of the various project phases while meeting the quality, safety, and performance requirements mandated by the nuclear industry.
Today, Hinkley Point C represents a pillar of the British energy strategy. The facility produces low-carbon electricity capable of meeting the needs of millions of homes and supporting national carbon neutrality goals.
