Redevelopment of the Jarret Ring Road

Transport and Infrastructure
Following the opening of the L2 ring road, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Authority launched one of Marseille’s largest urban redevelopment projects: the transformation of the Jarret Ring Road, formerly a major road around the city centre, into a 3.6-kilometre multimodal urban boulevard.
The project was entrusted to a design consortium led by Devillers & Associés, alongside Tangram Architectes, 8'18" (lighting), Réussir l’Espace Public (urban planning and safety) and Ingérop. The aim was to transform an area historically dedicated to car traffic into a more peaceful, accessible and sustainable public space.
For many years, the Jarret Ring Road was the only bypass route between the A7 and A50 motorways and carried up to 80,000 vehicles per day, generating significant disruption for local residents. The diversion of traffic to the L2 made it possible to undertake a major transformation of this infrastructure, giving more space to active mobility and improving quality of life in the city centre.

As part of this large-scale project, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Authority selected the Mezzoteam platform to centralise communications, facilitate document sharing and ensure smooth coordination between all stakeholders throughout the project.
