The water sport centre was built in the municipality of Mantes-la-Jolie, a large-scale project that formed part of redevelopment of the Quartier des Peintres district in the Val Fourré.
The facility built by the Mantes-en-Yvelines urban area authority (CAMY) delivers a combination of astutely bold architectural design, urban integration and unique leisure and sporting services.
Designed to meet demand among the general public for leisure and sports facilities, the centre also improves access for people with reduced mobility.

The centre consists of two separate facilties, with landscaped outdoor leisure and play areas:
• A fun, family-oriented aquatic space with a learning pool and leisure pool, a six-lane sports pool, a slide (835m² of water areas in total) a well-being/relaxation space and a fitness area.
• A water sports building featuring a clubhouse, a boathouse with workshop and a jetty leading to the Stade Nautique International Didier Simon (1,100m² in total)

Work began in 2008 and the project started using Mezzoteam from that point. The Pôle Nautique (aquatic space and water sports centre) was awarded grants by the Conseil Général des Yvelines, the Region, ANRU (National Agency for Urban Renovation) and the CNDS (National Centre for Sport Development).
