Bouygues Immobilier developed the Porte Sud retail park in Orange.
Penned by the Outsign Architecture firm, the structural design focused on sustainable development. Integrated into the surrounding vineyards, the four retail park buildings are located on a 10-hectare site.
The buildings have a total of 31,000m² of roofing, 27,000m² of which is covered with photovoltaic panels. Together, they form Europe’s largest photovoltaic power plant incorporated into a public building. Aerowatt built this power plant and shall also be tasked with its future management and maintenance.
The park features 30,000m² of retail space, 1,200 car parking spaces and approximately 50 shops. The park opened in April 2010.
